From the Ipswich Journal :-
"On Tuesday last was interred in this City the Body of Sir Abraham Elton, Bart. who left to his lady a plentiful Estate for her life , and a large Sum of money at her Disposal. His Honour descends to his eldest son Sir Abraham Elton, Bart. one of the present Representatives in Parliament for this City, to whom he left 80,000 l. and to his youngest Son Jacob Elton, Esq: 40,000 l. He also bequeathed handsomely to his grandchildren, generously to his Relations, and Hospitably to the Poor. Most of which was the Product of his own Acquisition in a fortunate Series of about 50 Years, under a steady Application, with Diligence, Reputation and Honour. His funeral was decently magnificent, attended with about 30 coaches and every Thing perform'd agreeably to the solemnity, quietly managed"
