Captain Christie sought damages of £150 from Thomas William Dawson Luis Fernandes for a black eye and injured jaw during an argument on 10th September 1864 in the billiard room of the Royal Hotel Scarborough.
The jury found for the plaintiff and awarded damages of £5.
A verdict which does not carry costs.
