"Before the business Court commenced the Master referred to the sad loss which the Court and the company had sustained through the death of Mr. Philip Cooper a member of the Court since 1903 and Master in 1910 and 1923. As the funeral had been fixed for the previous day he had ordered the postponement of the court until today and he reported that he and various members of the Court, the clerk and the Surveyor had attended the service at the Parish Church at Clapham. Tributes were paid by the Master and other members of the Court to Mr. Cooper’s memory and a vote of condolence was unanimously passed with his wife and members of his family."
