1) This the last Will and Testament
2) of me Margaret Dean of Henley upon Thames in the County of Oxford
3) Spinster I give and bequeath to my friend Philip Barrett Cooper of Bird Place
4) Remenham in the County of Berks Esquire the sum of five hundred pounds
5) and to his Brothers James Cooper of North Parade Bath and David Cooper
6)  of Shoe Lane London and to his Sister Susanna Terry of Henley upon Thames
7) Widow the like sum of five hundred pounds each and as respect to my dearly
8) beloved friend Margaret Otway Cooper the sister of the above mentioned Philip
9) Barrett Cooper James Cooper David Cooper and Susanna Terry I do not make
10) to her any pecuniary or other bequest in consequence of the unfortunate
11) mental malady with which she is afflicted which renders her incapable of
12) disposing of her property and also knowing that she is otherwise well
13) provided for I give and bequeath to Rebecca Upton of Birkenhead near
14) Liverpool widow the sum of one hundred pounds I give and bequeath
15) to my god-daughter Margaret Otway Bowles daughter of Charlotte
16) Bowles Widow of (?) near Soham Cambridgeshire the sum of
17) nineteen guineas also give and bequeath to my god-daughter Alice
18) Barbara Cooper the daughter of the above named David Cooper the sum of
19) nineteen guineas also to my god daughter Edith Margaret Towsey the daughter
20) of Charles Augustus Towsey of Henley on Thames the sum of nineteen guineas
21) also to my god daughter Agnes Helen Sparks the daughter of Thomas Philip Sparks
22) Captain in the seventeenth Madras Native Infantry now in India the sum of nine-
23) teen guineas also to my dear friend Harriet Wright of Church Street Hackney
24) spinster the sum of nineteen guineas I give and bequeath unto the said David
25) Cooper and to John Sparks of Shoe Lane in the City of London East India Agent
26) the sum of five hundred guineas upon trust to lay out and invest the same
27) in the name of my said trustees upon such personal securities as they in
28) their discretion shall think fit or in government or real securities and
29) from time to time to pay the dividends interests and annual (?) of the
30) stocks funds or securities in or upon which the same shall be invested unto
31) or permit the same to be received by my friend Mary Harriet Towsey the
32) wife of Charles Augustus Towsey of Henley upon Thames aforesaid for her
33) separate use free from the constraints and debts of her present or any future
34) husband and so that she shall have no power to (?) or anticipate the
35) annual income thereof and from and after the decease of the said
36) Mary Harriet Towsey in trust for such person or persons in such part shares
37) and proportions and subject to such restrictions and limitations as the said
38) Mary Harriet Towsey whether covert or sole shall at any time or from
39) time to time by any deed or deeds to be by her executed in the presence of and
40) to be attested by one of witness or by her last will and testament direct or appoint
41) in default thereof in trust for all and every the child and children of her
42) the said Mary Harriet Towsey who being a son or sons shall live to attain
43) the age of twenty one years or being a daughter or daughters shall
44) attain that age or marry if more than one in equal shares for the absolute
45) use and benefit of such child or children respectively and I hereby
46) nominate constitute and appoint the said Philip Barrett Cooper and
47) David Cooper the Executors of this my last Will and Testament and
48) hereby give and bequeath to them all the rest and residue of my property
49) to be divided and shared equally between them for the trouble they may (?) this my
51) Will contained in two sheets of paper set my hand to each sheet respectively
52) fourteenth day of April in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred
53) and fifty eight - Margaret Dean - Signed by the above

55) presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our
