"On Sunday last died in the sixty-fifth year of her age, at her seat at Fern-hill, in this county, Lady Knollys, relict of Sir Francis Knollys, bart."

"On Monday last the remains of Lady Knollys were brought from Fern-hill, in this county, and interred in the family vault in St Lawrence's church, in this town. Her Ladyship's tenants, forming a most respectable cavalcade, preceded the hearse, while the grey hairs of most, and the affliction of all, bore testament at once to her excellence and their own loss, and gave dignity and impressive awe to the spectacle, no mechanical parade of eschutcheoned pomp, the pageantry of woe, could have produced.
This worthy Lady resided among her  tenants in the good old style, respecting and respected, supporting and supported, beloved during a long and well spent life, and embalmed in death with the tears and unfeigned regrets of her numerous tenants and dependents."

"The Lords of the Treasury have ordered their Solicitor to give public notice, that they shall lay claim, on behalf of his Majesty, to the estates of the late Sir Francis Knollys, if no heir at law shall be found previous to the 4th of next month.
It s said to be his Majesty's declared intention, in default of a claimant, to make a present of the above estates, and situated in the counties of Berks, Bucks, Oxford and Lincoln, to Mr. Pitt, as a reward for his public service."
