Charles Basden and Lydia Perira both of this Parish were married in this church by licence this Twenty second day of Paril in the year of 1817 by me F Greville Curate This marriage was solemnized between us :- Chas. Basden Lydia Pereira In the presence of .- Hy. Cowper A. Harrison" From the Hampshire Chronicle :- "At St George's Hanover Square, Charles Basden Esq- of the Royal Navy, to Miss Lydia Pereira, daughter of the late J. Pereira Esq. of the Island of Jamaica, and niece of Sir M. M. Lopes, Bart. M.P. of Marriston House, in the county of Devon"

Mar 1836	Died in Plymouth (Buckland Terrace).1 From the Sherborne Mercury :- "In Buckland Terrace, Plymouth, Lydia, the beloved wife of Captain Basden, R.N., and niece of the late Sir Masseh Lopes, Bart."
