Licence obtained for marriage to Sophia DENMAN in London Diocese.7,8

"Appeared personally Matthew Baillie and made Oath, that he is of the Parish of St James Westminster in the County of Middlesex Esquire a Bachelor Aged Twenty one and upwards and intendeth to marry with Sophia Denman of the Parish and County aforesaid a Spinster and a Minor Aged Nineteen years and upwards by and with the Consent of Thomas Denman her natural and lawful Father and that he knoweth of no lawful impediment, by Reason of any pre-contract, Consanguinity, Affinity, or any other lawful Means whatever, to hinder the said intended marriage and prayed a Licence to solemnize the same in the Parish Church of St James Westminster aforesaid and further made Oath that the usual Place of Abode of him the said Matthew Baillie hath been in the said Parish off St James Westminster for the Space of four Weeks last past.
Then appeared personally the said Thomas Denman Esquire and made Oath that he is the natural and lawful Father of the said Minor and that he is freely consenting to the above intended marriage between the said Matthew Baillie and the said Sophia Denman Spinster the Minor aforesaid his Daughter"
