"DEATH OF MR. DANIEL M'GRANE
Sincere regret will be felt by all who knew him at the announcement of the death of Mr. Daniel M'Grane, which occurred yesterday at his residence, Gracepark House, Drumcondra. For the past twenty years Mr. M'Grane occupied the responsible position of Superintendent of the Cleaning Department of the Dublin Corporation, and he was regarded as one of the ablest and most trusted of its officials. His death, the announcement of which will come as a shock to his many friends in the city, was due to an accident which occurred in the discharge of his duties. Some five weeks ago, while making an official visit to some of the men in his charge, Mr. M'Grane was thrown heavily to the ground, owing to the horse he was driving having stumbled and fallen. Though under medical attendance since he never recovered from the effects of the accident, and to the grief of his family and of all who ever knew him, his death occurred last evening. In his death the corporation of Dublin loses one of the most painstaking and conscientious of its responsible officers."
