23rd May 1718	Born in East Kilbride, Long Calderwood.1,2 Seventh of ten children Father - John Hunter, a farmer Mother - Agnes Hunter née Paul, daughter of Mr Paul, treasurer of Glasgow Younger brother - John Hunter, 1728-1793
18th Sep 1762	Appointed.1 Physician-extraordinary to Queen Charlotte
1768	Elected in Society of Antiquaries.1 Elected a Fellow
30th Mar 1783	Died in London, Great Windmill Street.1,3 From the Whitehall Evening Post :- "Sunday, at his home in Windmill-street, Dr. Hunter, physician to the Queen"
5th Apr 1783	Buried in Westminster, St James Piccadilly.1,4,5 South aisle, west to east - a memorial From the website for St James Piccadilly :- "William Hunter, M.D., F.R.S., F.S.A, physician, physiologist and anatomist, who lived in Jermyn Street, 30 March 1783. He was appointed physician extraordinary to Queen Charlotte in 1764 and President of the Medical Society in 1781. His museum was acquired by Glasgow University"
