"On the 21st Dec., at Besika Bay, drowned in an attempt to save the life of  the Coxswain of his boat, to the success of which he was mainly instrumental, CHARLES EDWARD RUSHWORTH, midshipman on board H.M.S. Agincourt, aged 18, eldest son of the late Edward Everard Rushworth, D.O.L., C.M.G., Colonial Secretary, and Lieutenant-General of Jamaica"
