Licence obtained for marriage to Elizabeth FORSTER in Chester.8 "Know all Men by these Present, That we Jervas Wright of Sheffield in the County of York Gentleman and John Wilson of Sandbach in the County of Chester Gentleman are holden and firmly bound unto the Right Reverend Father in God Samuel by Divine Permission Lord Bishop of Chester in the Sum of One thousand Pounds of good and lawful Money of Great-Britain, to be paid unto the said Right Reverend Father his lawful Attorney, Executors, Administrators or Assignees, To which Payment well and truly to be made, we bind our selves and each of us severally for and in the whole, our Heirs, Executors and Administrators , and the Heirs Executors and Administrators of each of us firmly by these Presents. Sealed with our Seals, and date the twentieth Day of February in the twenty third Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second King of Great-Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, and in the Year of our Lord God, One thousand seven hundred and forty nine. |
